What a brilliant wedding day this was! A day full of laughter, happy tears, genuine emotion and a LOT of dancing. Perfect.
It had been a while since my last wedding at Rowton Hall in Cheshire, a venue I really enjoy going to, so I was really looking forward to going back. Even though it is located just a few minutes away from Chester city centre, Rowton Hall Country House Hotel and Spa is a luxury venue that feels as though it is in the middle of the countryside. It is surrounded by magnificent gardens and is full of charm and character.
One of the things that makes Rowton Hall such a great wedding venue is that it is photogenic both inside and outside, so whatever the weather, there are always plenty of great locations for photographs. This was particularly helpful on this day as we had a little bit of everything weather wise; wind, rain and sun. It really was four seasons in one day but I loved this as it gave the wedding photographs so much variety and contrast. It’s hard to believe that not long after taking photos of Caroline and Jonathan against a beautiful sunset that we were back outside taking some creative portraits in the rain!
As soon as I arrived at the hotel in the morning and started taking photographs of Caroline getting ready with her bridesmaids (The Bride Tribe!) I knew it was going to be an amazing day to photograph. The room was full of laughing, music and excitement. Sometimes during this time on a wedding day morning, everyone can feel a little nervous and anxious but there was none of that here and that made the bridal preparations so much fun to photograph.
This set the tone for the rest of the day and I loved being a part of it. I photographed their woodland engagement shoot a few weeks earlier so I knew what a great couple Caroline and Jonathan were, they made me feel extremely welcome and it was an honour to be a part of their wedding.
It was also brilliant to work alongside the brilliant Ross Edwards, who filmed the day and then in the evening, see the always incredible The Rush get everyone up dancing. The Rush are one of, if not the very best, wedding bands out there and I always love seeing them live. The dance floor was literally packed the whole time they were playing!
Thank you so much again Caroline and Jonathan for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I loved capturing your special day and I am so pleased that you are so happy with your photographs. It has been so nice getting to know you both and I wish you all the very best for your future together.
Here are just a few of my favourite photographs from your beautiful wedding at Rowton Hall:
