King Street Townhouse wedding photography

Rich & John

City centre wedding in Manchester

Just before New Year, I photographed Rich and John’s amazing wedding at King Street Town House in Manchester city centre, and what a brilliant day it was.

I always enjoy photographing city centre weddings, especially in Manchester as it is my home city. Add to this the fact that Rich and John are such a great couple, extremely welcoming and relaxed, so this was a wedding I had been looking forward to for a long time.

This was also the first wedding I had photographed at King Street Townhouse and wow, what a fantastic venue it is. Built in 1872 and located in the heart of Manchester, this Italian renaissance building is absolutely stunning and ideal for couples wanting to get married in the city centre. It is managed by Eclectic Hotels who own some of Manchester’s best wedding venues, so I couldn’t wait to visit for the first time. Not only is this boutique hotel extremely cool and photogenic, but the staff were also incredibly helpful on the day, which is always a massive help.

The ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception all took place on the King Street Townhouse’s 6th floor, a fantastic space which has stunning panoramic views over the city. After the ceremony, all the wedding guests made their way on to the South Terrace to enjoy drinks, canapes and those amazing views. It really is the perfect venue for a city centre wedding.

Earlier, I had started the day with Rich and John as they got ready together at home with their friends. Then once everyone was ready we made our way in to Manchester. The atmosphere on the morning, as for the rest of the day as well, was extremely relaxed and was such a pleasure to be a part of.

The wedding ceremony in particular was full of emotion with lots of laughter and happy tears. After the ceremony, once everyone had given Rich and John their congratulations, we went up to the roof for some city centre portrait photographs. The views up there were amazing, especially with the Town Hall in the background.

The rest of the day went perfectly and I loved being a part of it, I particular enjoyed the Ceilidh wedding band in the evening!

A massive thank you again Rich and John for asking me to be a part of your wedding day. It has been so nice getting to know you both and I wish you a very long and happy marriage together.
