Indian wedding photography – Nina & Nima

Wow, what a day this was! Nina and Nima’s wedding day truly did have everything. In fact it had more than everything as they had two separate wedding ceremonies; an Indian wedding ceremony and then a Persian wedding ceremony. An absolutely incredible day to photograph and a pleasure to be a part of.

Nina and Nima got married at Nima’s parent’s house near Newcastle. I travelled up the day before in awful conditions, it barely stopped raining the whole way up. However, that was obviously just the weather’s way of getting all the rain out of it’s system because on the wedding day itself the sun didn’t stop shining and it was nothing less than Nina and Nima deserved.

A few days earlier I had photographed Nina and Nima’s turmeric celebrations. That was such a fun day so I knew that the wedding day itself would be absolutely amazing, and it was. I started the day with Nina and her bridesmaids as they got ready at a salon. Then it was back to the wedding venue where the finishing touches were being made to the stunning marquee that had been put up especially for the day.

First was the Indian wedding ceremony, which involved lots of traditional and beautiful moments. The Mandap looked stunning and there was such a sense of excitement as the bride and groom entered the room. I love how both parents play such an active part in an Indian wedding ceremony, it makes it extra special, and the ceremony was full of smiles and happiness.

After the Indian ceremony, we took some group photographs then both Nina and Nima went inside to get changed in readiness for the Persian ceremony. This was also such a great ceremony, it was the first time I had photographed a Persian wedding ceremony and it was fascinating to see the different traditions.

The rest of the day ran just as perfectly and everyone had a fantastic time enjoying amazing food and drink in the sunshine.

Thank you so much again Nina and Nima for asking me to be your wedding photographer. It has been so nice getting to know you both and I am so pleased that both your turmeric celebrations and your wedding day went so perfectly. I wish you both a very long and happy life together x
