I was absolutely delighted to find out on Sunday evening that for the second year running, I had won the title of BIPP North West Wedding Photographer of the Year! 🙂 🙂

The BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography) are the official qualifying body for professional photographers in the UK and winning such a prestigious award in a region so full of talented wedding photographers is an achievement which I am extremely proud of. The awards are a culmination of the past 12 months work and to have your work judged worthy of such a title is a huge honour – I was on cloud 9 when my name was read out!

When I won the award last year I was unfortunately unable to attend the awards evening so I was delighted that I was able to make it to this year’s event. It was a brilliant night, the room was packed and the atmosphere was fantastic – a real credit to the BIPP North West Committee (especially the region’s outgoing Chairman, Bernard O’Sullivan) who had put so much time and effort in to making the event such a huge success.

In total there are 3 wedding categories in the awards; Creative, Reportage and Classical, each consisting of 10 images in the final.  I managed to win both the Gold and Bronze awards in the Reportage and Classical categories, which along with 10 images which achieved a Merit award, meant that I was named the overall Wedding Photographer of the Year 🙂

I literally wouldn’t be able to take the photographs I do without my amazing bride and grooms so I would like to say a HUGE thank you to you all! I am so lucky to capture the weddings of so many fantastic, happy and lovely couples and that makes my job not only a pleasure but also gives me a chance to do well in awards such as these – so again, a heartfelt thank you to all my couples.
