Just before New Year I took part in a really cool and fun ‘Ice Maiden’ style bridal wedding shoot at the amazing Manchester Monastery. The whole shoot and concept was planned by the lovely and very talented Laura of Perfect Choice Planning.
The Manchester Monastery wedding shoot was not only a lot of fun but it was also great because I got to meet and get to know lots of other local wedding suppliers. Everybody worked together brilliantly and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending any of the suppliers 🙂 We spent the day photographing three models in a variety of dresses and different styles. Although we managed to achieve a lot during the day, it was also a very relaxed day and fun for me as I got the chance to get really creative with lighting and coloured gels – my favourite photograph from the day (the shot of the model in the blue corridor below) was achieved using OCF and a blue gel.
Laura had invited two photographers to capture the day for her, so as well as myself I also got to meet and work with the lovely Joanne Spencer, a very talented wedding photographer based in Lancaster. I had known Jo in the virtual world for a while before the shoot so it was great to finally meet her and we worked together really well 🙂
Laura – thank you very much again for inviting me to photograph this Manchester Monastery wedding shoot, it has been lovely getting to know you. I couldn’t have been more impressed with all the effort you had put in to the day and it was a testament to your skills that the day went so well. I certainly hope we work together again in the future!
As well Laura and Joanne, here are the other fantastic suppliers who also helped with the Ice Maiden shoot:
- Venue – The Manchester Monastery
- Dresses, shoes and veils – Pearl Bridal Boutique
- Hair & Make-up – Harry Jon
- Accessories – Laurel Weddings
- Flowers – Laura Coleman Flowers
- Shrugs and wraps – Wrapor
- Suits – Groom Hire Manchester
- We also had three fantastic models, Leanne, Nikki and Mark, who were all brilliant and great to work with so a big thank you to them too!
Here are a few of my personal favourite photographs from the shoot in Manchester:
Beautiful! Love the blue corridor one too 🙂 And also the black and white one with the Christmas tree lights twinkling in the background is just gorgeous.
Great shots as always Neil!
