I had been looking forward to Sam and Alex’s wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn for a long time, not only because they are such a fantastic and fun couple to be around but also because they had planned to have their wedding ceremony outside. Despite the fact I have photographed a number of weddings at Sandhole I had never photographed an outdoors ceremony there. My only fear for Sam and Alex was that they were getting married on the last day in October….

In the North West we’re often lucky if it doesn’t rain in October let alone actually have nice warm weather but that is exactly what we had! Not only was it dry but the sun came out for almost the whole of Sam and Alex’s day and it was warm – on the last day in October! The weather gods were definitely on our side, we even had an incredible sunset, but it was nothing less than Sam and Alex deserved and the whole day was perfect.
