What an amazing day this was. Lydia and Alex’s wedding at Adlington Hall in Cheshire was such a pleasure to photograph. They are one of the nicest and most relaxed bride and grooms you could wish to meet and everything about their special day was perfect.
I started the wedding day by photographing Lydia at home as she got ready with her bridesmaids, there was such a happy atmosphere during the bridal preparations, I think Lydia definitely wis the prize for being the most relaxed bride ever! She is also multi-talented and had put so much effort in the planning and preparation of her wedding, even making her own wedding dress and the wedding cake, both of which were amazing!
Everything about this wedding felt happy and relaxed, there wasn’t a hint of anything being rushed. The whole vibe of the day was one of happiness and celebration, we had beautiful weather too as the sun didn’t stop shining and it was nothing less than this bride and groom deserved.
This was only the second wedding I had photographed at Adlington Hall and Gardens but I hope I am asked to capture more weddings here in the future because wow, what a beautiful wedding venue it is. The historic Great Hall, where couples get married, is absolutely stunning and has so much character. You can feel the history of the place as you walk through the doors. It really is an incredible space to have a ceremony. The courtyard and all the grounds outside are amazing too and make a great backdrop for photographs. The Rose Garden in particular, where the drinks reception took place, looked beautiful, especially with this being a summer wedding. Working at a venue like Adlington Hall makes my job easy.
After the ceremony and drinks reception around the Great Hall, we all made our way over to the Hunting Lodge for the wedding reception. Lydia and Alex did things a little differently by having the speeches around the dance floor after their evening guests arrived. This worked really nicely and added to the relaxed and unique feel of the day. Then it was time to party!
I would like to make a special mention to all the staff at Adlington Hall who were fantastic to work with and offered so much help too. It really makes a difference when as a wedding photographer you are welcomed so much on the day so a big thank you to everyone at Adlington for that.
Another huge thank you goes to my good friend and mega talented photographer Toni Darcy for helping me on the day and taking so many great shots. You were brilliant Toni!
Biggest thank you of all though goes to Lydia and Alex for asking me to capture their amazing wedding day for them. It has been so nice getting to know you both and I wish you both all the very best for your future together, I know it will be a very long and happy one.
Here are a few of my favourite photographs from your incredible day:
Love the photos especially the sunset photo.
