Sandhole Oak Barn is one of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues and it’s not hard to see why bride and grooms love it so much.

Located in 400 acres of beautiful Cheshire countryside, Sandhole Oak Barn is an exclusive converted barn which was designed specifically with weddings in mind. And you can tell that when you arrive. Everything at Sandhole is aimed at making wedding days absolutely perfect – and they are.

I have been lucky enough to have photographed a number of weddings at Sandhole over the past few years and each one has been amazing. It is such a warm and welcoming venue offering no end of beautiful places for photographs. I always love going there.

Why Sandhole Oak Barn is one of my favourite wedding venues

There are so many reasons why I always love working at Sandhole, it is hard to pick just a few. I have listed some below and these all add up to ensuring you have an amazing wedding day.

Breathtaking lake

The main barn is positioned right on a huge lake which really helps to give Sandhole the wow factor. When guests first arrive at the venue, I almost always hear them commenting on how beautiful the lake and the views are, it really does set Sandhole apart from other wedding venues. The six acre lake makes a stunning backdrop for photographs and makes drinks receptions outside feel so laid back and relaxing. One side of the main barn has windows all along it too offering stunning views over the lake, so it’s always within view.

Stunning venue for photography

Sandhole is extremely photogenic and offers many more photo opportunities than just the lake however. One of my favourite places to take portraits of bride and grooms is in a field behind the barn. It is so peaceful there and the sun sets perfectly over the field too meaning evening portraits here look absolutely incredible, especially at summer weddings. As well as this there is also some beautiful gardens towards entrance. Even the driveway from the main road is a great option for photographs!

Fantastic wedding caterers

Although other caterers are available, my good friends at Top Table have done the catering for each of the weddings which I have photographed at Sandhole. Annette and her team go above and beyond too, not only providing absolutely incredible food (trust me, I have been lucky enough to eat it on a few occasions!) but they also help to ensure that the day as a whole runs perfectly too. It is so nice when suppliers work together to make sure that everything is perfect for bride and grooms and Top Table couldn’t be better and more helpful. I love working with them. Every wedding at Sandhole feels so relaxed and friendly.

Exclusivity of whole wedding venue

Another huge benefit of getting married at Sandhole Oak Barn is that couples get exclusivity of the whole venue. Personally, I think this is something really important as the last thing any bride wants to see on her special day is another bride. At Sandhole, the only people you will see on your wedding day are your family and friends. Sandhole offers has lots of luxury accommodation for friends and family onsite too.
