Mitton Hall in Lancashire has long been one of my favourite wedding venues. I have been lucky enough to capture so many amazing weddings there over the years and every one has been fantastic to photograph.
Mitton Hall is a beautiful country house hotel located near Whalley in Lancashire. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and Mitton Hall itself is exactly the same.
It is one of those rare venues that has just as many options for photography inside as it does on the outside. So whatever the weather there is never an issue with wedding photographs as there is just so much choice and amazing locations to use. This means that is a venue which is perfect for both summer and winter weddings. I have been lucky to shoot weddings in all weathers and seasons there and each one has been so much fun.
Amazing staff
One of the other things which has always set Mitton Hall apart is the friendliness and helpfulness of their staff. This is true of all venues run by James Place. They really do look after all the suppliers who work there and it makes a huge difference on the day. It is a really welcoming venue and as soon as you walk through the doors, you get a sense of friendliness and warmth.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and they have always put so much effort in to making sure that every wedding goes perfectly, both for the bride and groom and for me as a photographer.
Why I love going to Mitton Hall
The inside space at Mitton Hall is incredible. Especially the main hall area by the front entrance, which is absolutely beautiful. A brilliant area for indoor photographs. It’s so cosy with it’s big open fire place and makes a great setting for reception drinks. The main wedding breakfast room is stunning too and is perfect for weddings.
For outside photographs I really love the gardens, especially those at the back of the venue which are huge (but private) with beautiful views over the Ribble Valley. This is also where the sun sets too so it’s a really nice location for evening sunset portraits on a wedding day.
